How We Began

Artificial Environments, Inc. was founded in 2002 by artist and artificial rock sculptor Dante M. Corrente. Dante first developed his skills and appreciation for this unique artistic trade in 1996 when he was hired as a rock carver at Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom. It was there while working amongst the best artisans and art directors in the world that he was taught how to study the proper anatomy of a rock, how to recreate nature, and to never spare any detail. He was offered a job at Universal Studios’ Islands of Adventure as the lead artist on two of the six islands - Port of Entry and Jurassic Park. Dante has been sought after to help create themed environments on many prestigious projects that also include exhibits at New York’s Bronx Zoo, Cleveland’s Metro Park Zoo, and the Erie Zoo in Erie, PA. His experience also extends to casinos, hotels, and miniature golf courses as well. Artificial Environments, Inc. ultimate goal is to make sure that the end result and final product looks as realistic and believable as possible.
